HOW TO USE
- Ensure timber is clean, dry and free from dust, wax, grease and contamination
- Sand new timber using 140–180 grit sandpaper
- Remove old coatings using Nova 08 Novastrip where required
- Remove wax residue using a suitable wax remover
- Clean oily timbers using Mineral Turpentine and fine steel wool if necessary
- Stir thoroughly before and during use
First Coat:
• May be thinned with up to 20% Mineral Turpentine to improve penetration
• Apply using a clean brush or spray equipment
• Apply evenly following the timber grain direction
• Allow 2–4 hours drying before sanding
• Sand lightly using 160–180 grit sandpaper
Second & Third Coats:
• Remove all sanding dust
• Apply subsequent coats undiluted
• Sand lightly between coats using 180–220 grit sandpaper
• Apply a third coat where required
Spray Application:
• Suitable for spray application at approximately 275kPa
Critical: Not suitable for exterior exposure, timber flooring or permanent water immersion. Do not apply to damp timber or during cold and humid conditions. Avoid excessive film build which may cause runs or wrinkling.
Tip: For enhanced timber colour, apply Nova 18 Novadye before varnishing. Do not mix Nova 18 directly into Nova 17.
