HOW TO USE
- Ensure timber is clean, dry, sound and free from wax, grease and contamination
- Sand new timber using 140–180 grit sandpaper and remove all dust
- Stir thoroughly before and during use
- Apply using a quality brush, mohair roller or suitable spray equipment
- Apply thin, even coats following the direction of the timber grain
First Coat:
• On highly porous timber, thin with up to 20% Genkem Mineral Turpentine to improve penetration
• Allow to dry before sanding
• Lightly sand using 180-grit sandpaper
Second Coat:
• Remove all sanding dust
• Apply an even second coat
• Allow 6–8 hours before recoating
• Lightly sand using 220-grit sandpaper
Final Coat:
• Remove all sanding dust
• Apply the final coat evenly
• Additional light coats may be applied in high-traffic or high-exposure areas where required
Critical: Not suitable for below-waterline applications, permanent water immersion, damp timber or poorly prepared surfaces. Avoid application during rain, heavy dew or highly humid conditions. Protect newly coated surfaces from moisture during curing.
Tip: For colour enhancement, apply Nova 18 Novadye Wood Stain and allow it to dry completely before applying NovaShield. Do not mix Nova 18 directly into NovaShield.
